Andersson joins DA Racing for Euro RX

Rising Swedish rallycross star Magda Andersson will return to the FIA European Rallycross Championship this season from the second round in Belgium, driving for the DA Racing team.

Andersson will race a Peugeot 208 WRX as team mate to Andrea Dubourg in the French team at the four remaining rounds of Euro RX Supercar, at Mettet (Belgium), Holjes (Sweden), Loheac (France) and Riga (Latvia). It will be her second season racing a Supercar, she switched from finishing second in the FIA European Rallycross Championship for TouringCar in 2016 to the top class last season driving for the Marklund Motorsport team. Her best finish was at Loheac in France, where she made the semi-finals and was ninth in the final classification.

"I am very happy to join DA Racing for four rounds of Euro RX Supercar. For a long time, I thought I would not have a programme this season and when the DA Racing offered me the chance to take the wheel of the 208 WRX, I did not hesitate for a moment. Rallycross is a constantly evolving discipline and it's very important to drive this year's DA Racing 208 WRX," she said.

The 19 year old is looking forward to racing at team's home event at Loheac "This is the first time that I have been part of a French team and I'm already very much looking forward to working with DA Racing. I've always had a lot of support from French fans and I must admit that I cannot wait to get back to Loheac in September, the atmosphere there is amazing and its one of my favourite events. The goal is of course to have a lot of fun driving the 208 WRX that has benefited from many evolutions during the winter. After a first season in Supercar, I'm confident and eager to get back into the rhythm in the 208 WRX and to set the fastest lap times possible."
