British-based Albatec Racing has confirmed a two-car team will compete in the 2015 FIA European Rallycross Championship (Euro RX) presented by Monster Energy. Frenchman Jerome Grosset-Janin will drive a Peugeot 208 Supercar in all five rounds of Euro RX, together with his home event in Loheac.
Grosset-Janin, who won the French Rallycross Championship in 2013, tested the Peugeot 208 Supercar earlier this week. The 30-year-old will continue a test programme over the next few months ahead of the opening round of Euro RX which takes place in Belgium from 15-17 May.
"I'm very happy to have been hired by Andy Scott," beamed the 30-year-old Frenchman, who reached the World RX semi-finals at both Lydden Hill and Loheac last year.
Grosset-Janin added: "I had the opportunity to drive the car for the first time and it was a day to discover the car and my new environment. I have a very good feeling driving it, the car has a good balance and everything went well! I am sure that with Albatec Racing, MTechnologies and myself, we have everything in place to have a strong season! I can't wait to get back behind the wheel for the next test."
Albatec Racing team owner Andy Scott concluded: "I'm delighted to welcome Jerome to the team. Over the past two seasons he's proved to be an extremely quick and capable driver, even without the benefit of a new generation Supercar. I believe Albatec will give him the platform to secure race wins and hopefully challenge for the European title."
The team is currently talking to several other top-line drivers interested in driving Albatec's second Peugeot 208. More information will be revealed soon.
